1 Ane day when heaven was filled with His praises,
One twenty-four hours when sin was as black as could be,
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin,
Dwelt among men, my example is He!

Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
Buried, He carried my sins far away;
Rising, He justified freely, forever;
One day He's coming: O glorious day!

ii I day they led Him upwardly Calvary'southward mountain,
One twenty-four hour period they nailed Him to dice on the tree;
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected,
Begetting our sins, my Redeemer is He! [Refrain]

iii One solar day they left Him alone in the garden,
Ane 24-hour interval He rested, from suffering costless;
Angels came down o'er His tomb to go on vigil;
Hope of the hopeless, my Savior is He! [Refrain]

4 Ane day the grave could conceal Him no longer,
One day the stone rolled away from the door;
Then He arose, over death He had conquered,
At present is ascended, my Lord ever more! [Refrain]

5 One day the trumpet will sound for His coming,
One day the skies with His glory will shine;
Wonderful day, my beloved ones bringing;
Glorious Savior, this Jesus is mine! [Refrain]

Author: J. Wilbur Chapman

Rv John Wilbur Chapman DD LLD U.s.a. 1859-1918. Born in Richmond, IN, he attended Quaker 24-hour interval Schoolhouse and Methodist Sunday school. At age 17 he fabricated a public announcement of his Christian faith and joined the Richmond Presbyterian Church. He received his seminary degree from Lane Theoloical Seminary, Cincinnati, OH. He was afterward awarded a Doctorate in Divinity from the College of Wooster, and an LL.D. from Heidelberg Academy. In 1882 he married Irene Steddon. They had a daughter. His wife died in 1886. In 1888 he married Agnes Pruyn Strain, and they had 4 children. His second wife died in 1907. In 1910 he married Mabel Cornelia Moulton.
